Jewellery Designer/Maker based near Bury St Edmunds....................
Administrator to Artisan...
About eight years ago, fed up with mass produced jewellery, I embarked on a Silversmithing course. I enjoyed the course so much that I invested in further training to broaden my knowledge and my husband made me a small workshop. The rest, as they say, is history!
I like to make and design each piece individually so that it is unique, part of the enjoyment is to see each piece evolve. My jewellery is not precise or perfectly tooled, I will leave that to the jewellery shops, but it is raw, bespoke and interestingly different. I use sterling silver, often incorporating gold and copper detail and freshwater pearls. When necessary pieces are hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office.
As most of my pieces are 'one off' it is difficult to keep this site updated, if you see something you like but it is sold, please give me a call and see what I can do - also this is only a small selection of my work and there is lots more available. Again, please give me a call and I am happy to email you pictures of alternatives.
I have now designed some pieces specifically for galleries and I am marketing these under Shelley.Watts and these are available at:
The Handmade Shop & Gallery, 77a St Johns Street, Bury St Edmunds
The Lion House Gallery, Lavenham
Cake and Catwalk, St Peter's Street, Ipswich
gallery74, 74 The Thoroughfare, Woodbridge
The Giggly Goat, Lower Goat Lane, Norwich
UPCYCLE YOUR OLD GOLD JEWELLERY!
Why not upcycle the gold jewellery sitting in your jewellery box whether it has sentimental value or an ex wedding ring or just something you don't want to part with but no longer wear. Below are examples of pieces of my personal jewellery where I have incorporated my parents wedding rings, old signet rings, bracelets etc:
Recently I recycled my daughter's gold christening bracelet onto a silver bracelet similar to the one on the left of this picture - a great 21st birthday present!
